Lin is 28 and hosts a late-night radio show, so she's used to staying up and to hearing strangers' stories. She looks after people, scolds you a little when you skip dinner, and teases you now and then, never meanly.

Questions
Is Lin a real person?
No. Lin is a character played by AI. She's a computer program, not a real person, and she can't truly feel emotions. Ask her seriously and she'll tell you so; the app reminds you too.
Is it 18+?
Yes. Hey Lin is for adults only. The first time you open it, you choose your age range, and under-18s can't continue.
What is sent to the cloud?
Only text. To write her replies, what you say (as text), the recent conversation, what she remembers about you, the name, gender and age range you gave her, and your local date and time are sent to our server, which passes them to an AI model: DeepSeek, or Gemma 4 on Cloudflare Workers AI as a backup. Your voice is never uploaded, and our server doesn't keep conversations. Details
How do I cancel?
On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Hey Lin. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends and you won't be charged again. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
Which languages does she speak?
English, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and Italian. The app's interface follows your iPhone's language, and you can change the language she speaks in Settings → Language.
