Calls and texting with Lin, up to 3 hours a day in total; the day resets at 4 AM your local time. Songs and dances are included, and there's nothing else to buy. New users can try her free for 10 minutes first, with no payment needed. Plans are $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US; prices vary by country.

On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Hey Lin. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends and you won't be charged again. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with, then tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen.

She'll say goodnight for the day, and you can talk again after 4 AM your local time. A conversation about a crisis is never cut off by the daily limit.

Check that Hey Lin is allowed to use the Microphone and Speech Recognition: on your iPhone, go to Settings → Privacy & Security. The first time, iOS may need to download Apple's on-device speech recognition for your language, so give it a moment. Then just talk, and pause when you're done; she'll reply. Speaking closer to the phone helps if she misses you.

English, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German and Italian. The app's interface follows your iPhone's language, and you can change the language she speaks in Settings → Language.

Go to Settings → What Lin remembers. Delete any single item, or choose Clear all memories to start over. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone.

Please report it. During a call, tap the flag next to her caption; in text chat, tap Report under her message. The line is hidden from your chat right away, and we review reports within 24 hours.

No. Lin is a character played by AI. She's a computer program, not a real person, and she can't truly feel emotions. Ask her seriously and she'll tell you so; the app reminds you too.

Yes. Hey Lin is for adults only. The first time you open it, you choose your age range, and under-18s can't continue.

Only text. To write her replies, what you say (as text), the recent conversation, what she remembers about you, the name, gender and age range you gave her, and your local date and time are sent to our server, which passes them to an AI model: DeepSeek, or Gemma 4 on Cloudflare Workers AI as a backup.
